When I knocked on Gabrielle and Troy's apartment door, in the hallway as I waited, I could already feel the calm coming from the other side of the door.
Radiant and absolutely glowing Gabrielle opened the door to let me in. I immediately felt a beautiful warmth come over me.

Newborn sessions are my favourite. Maybe it's the pace that newborns bring in, or the tenderness that's felt, or that newborn smell. I am never certain why I love these sessions the most, but every time my newborn sessions are done, I know that I have captured a beautiful time in the life of a new parent, be it their first baby or their fourth. Each time is so raw as everyone's emotions are at the forefront. All I have ever felt during newborn sessions was love, immensely. Maybe that's why they are my favourite.

During these newborn moments, a true millisecond in time, when all of the newness is absolutely fresh and love overtakes you, I believe time moves the quickest. I have found this to be true with my own three children right after they were born. I feel, in these seconds of time when you look back at photos captured soon after the birth, you can immediately transport yourself back to that time, that smell, those feelings. Somehow because of the photographs your heart remembers.

Even while editing these images all of those beautiful feelings that I felt while capturing these moments came back.
Gabrielle and Troy, thank you for welcoming me into your hearts. Congratulations again.
