It seemed as though we waited for this little beauty for a long time. All of us anticipating her healthy arrival.
Doug, Amy and Bea couldn't wait to meet Daphne, and neither could I. I have realized that with each pregnancy a woman grows wiser to the risks involved. She grows to truly appreciate the miracle that is a healthy life. We know how intricate our human body is and when we think about a woman's body making an actual life that works perfectly it can be overwhelming.
Our maternity and newborn photo sessions together were one of my favourites. Singing, laughing, playing, crying and sharing our stories with one another. It still warms my heart when I think about it. As well, our sharing confirmed how strongly I believe women should always be open about their changing life into Motherhood leaving themselves vulnerable within a safe circle of women they can trust, be it their first, second, third or fourth time being a mother. There was a lot of beautiful open-ness during these photo sessions.
Lastly, on the topic of beautiful people, for those of us who are lucky enough to know Amy, she is absolutely loving and lovely. She is honest and has a soul that radiates in beautiful wisdom. Doug is a wonderful friend, partner, and father. He is one of the sweetest people I have met and he is so in love with his girls. On top of all of this, Amy and Doug also make incredibly cute kids! I loved watching Doug and Amy with their girls. A true treasure.
Our time together will always be near and dear to me. During my time photographing their family I felt real tender love. Here are a few of the images from both their maternity and newborn sessions with me.
